Tragedy for our community
I'm not sure how many of you get Sioux City news channels. We have suffered a horrible tragedy in our school district. We are consolidated with another small town so everyone knows everyone, we are either friends or relatives it seems. On Friday afternoon it was suppose to be a fun time for 4 little girls, 3 in 5th grade, one in 7th, they were celebrating a b'day. Two sister's & 2 friends were killed on their snowmobiles. They had come out of a grove of trees & were going to turn around on the gravel road in front of the sister's house when one of our boys from school (16 yrs old) popped the hill & hit the 2 snowmobiles. One of the girl's died on the scene the other 3 at the hospital. And to top this horrible event off the mother of the sister's saw everything. The young boy who hit the girls was not hurt, he was treated & released but mentally he is in horrible condition. Our principal sat with the parents throughout the whole ordeal. They have arranged for a grief team to be at the school on Monday. All of the girl's were friends of my daughter (she's in 6th grade) & Katie is having a real hard time as are all of us. Make sure you have given your kids extra hugs. We never know when tragedy will hit us or close to home, I know only to well as both of my brother's were killed in senseless accidents. Please say an extra prayer for our little angels & their families & one for Danny our 16 yr. old, God only knows this young man is going thru a hell none of us can even begin to imagine. Thanks everyone. Carolyn
Carolyn...So sad, Ive been keeping up on the news of this since I had first heard, as I live not far from you! My prayers are with each and everyone of you....I am really speechless cuz I know what this can do to a community! I just don't understand why this had to happen...I guess we never will!
My thoughts and prayers are with you all!!!

Our prayers are with the families and the community. I heard about this over the weekend -- what a sad situtation. Prayers also for the young man driving the pickup. I can't imagine the nightmares he is having. I lost two friends in a tragic accident when they were 16 and the driver of that vehicle was also the only survivor. My heart goes out to all.
