How is Everyone Doing????
Hi, I'm Denise, RNY, Dr Schwartz, one week ago. If you asked me yesterday I'd tell you like *@##! Today is a better day. I have a hard time with fluids. Today I got my quota in YEAH!!! my husband had to go to work today & he worries about me so I try for him. I over did it befor surgery, Worked 72 hrs in 9 days, ate everything I could get my hands on. I'm also a sugar & Pepsiholic. I think I'm over the DT's. I'm 5'2 & was 252lbs last week. I'll find out tomorrow at the Dr's office my new weight. Right now I ache all over & the heating pad is my best friend. I can't stay in bed longer than 2 hrs, but I hope that improves. I'm bummed right now because I don't have my tree up yet or the presents wrapped, Maybe I'll have the energy later in the week. I thought about tomorrow, but with a 2 hour drive both ways my day is about shot.
I'll post more later.
PS. Off the subject--- How do you post personnel comments on your own page, like a daily journal?
God Bless, Denise

I still have days where I can't get my water all in. I am a little over 9 weeks out. Try not to sweat the small stuff, like the tree and wrapping gifts, still 10 days til the big day so you will have time to get them done. Most important thing now is healing. Drinking and walking and sleeping. Hang in there! Elizabeth
I am SO glad you have posted everyone I love to keep up to date on how you are all doing. I may not post much, but I do read a lot I hope you all have a Very Happy Holiday season! Hopefully, I'll get off of this darn mini-plateau before long and be a loser again. lol.
Take care AMOS Iowa Family!
Happy Holidays!
Love,
Tammy P.
Hi Everybody-
I have been terrible at posting lately. Sorry! I am just about 4 weeks out and I am doing and feeling great. I think I am one of the lucky ones. I haven't been sick once - not even one little queasy feeling! Nothing I eat bothers me at all. I have eaten mashed up chicken, beef, pork and salmon. I eat a lot of soup too. Dr. Schwartz told me to stay on soft foods for as long as I can- so I am dying to have a salad, but I will wait at least another month or maybe two. I think the most challenging thing is to get in all the liquids. I only seem to be able to do 45-50 ounces and I worry about that. I am really going to try to get to 64 ounces daily. I still have a bit of muscle soreness in my rib area but it has gotten better daily. I am back to playing piano and singing with no problems there- I am even going to attempt playing a 3 hour party downtown this weekend! I know not to overdo it, so I will take it easy. I hope you are all doing well and have a Merry Christmas!

HI EVERYONE. SORRY I HAVE NOT POSTED LATELY. HOLIDAY PREPARATIONS HAVE KEPT ME GOING.
MY SON, PATRICK AND HIS WIFE, HAD A LITTLE GIRL ON DECEMBER 10TH AND I AM JUST SO ANXIOUS TO SEE HER. WE ARE LEAVING THE 26TH AND GOING TO DALLAS FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS.
I HAVE MADE HER A QUILT AND A SMOCKED DAY GOWN.
I HAVE BEEN WELL AND HAVE NOT FOUND ANYTHING THAT BOTHERS ME, THANK GOODNESS. I NOTICE THAT MY PANTS ARE A LITTLE LOOSE INSTEAD OF SKIN TIGHT.
I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A VERY HAPPY HOLIDAY.

UPDATE;
The tree is up! My husband got off his lazy butt & helped. I only got in 20 fluids yesterday. I lost 11lbs & I'm not going to go look for it. My Dr. says all the achs & pains are normal & related to my new stomach anatomy, it will take about a month to adjust. And I did forget I had my gallbladder removed & that is one of the most painful surgeries. I had 3 marble size stones & I was'nt showing any symptoms before surgery.
Today started off good & bad, The good part is & slept for 7 hours, The bad part is & didn't move at all & it about took a crane to get me out of bed. Well I have to go wake my husband & son, DENISE
Dear Tammy: Hi!! I'm fairly new on the message board, my name is DeeAnn R. I am still waiting for insurance approval!! I intially had my information sent to the insurance gods Aug. 8. I was denied in Nov. I sent in appeals letters, and info a couple weeks ago. I'm waiting on them to decide. If I'm still turned down, I will have to wait until May, to try again. ( 6 mo medically supervised diet) Best of luck to you,as those lbs come off!!!!!! Take care, DeeAnn R.
Hey all,
I'm here and on the losing side! Surgery 12/8/03. Still healing and trying not to do too much, but am anyway.
Have been on a liquid diet since the day before surgery and looking forward to next week when I get to try soft foods. Yeah!!
Just wanted to let you all know, especially, how much all of the support means. It is wonderful to have friends who know what I am going through. Thanks and have great holidays!
