I'm approved!
Had my surgeon consult with Dr. Susan Beck today.
The good news? They got insurance approval within a few days!
The bad news? They'll probably have to do an open procedure (they'll TRY lap). I have lots of adhesions in my pelvis from severe endometriosis, and it's been on my colon for years. They're afraid that will prevent them from being able to "inflate" my abdomen.
Have three more tests to go thru:
1. Echo on Friday since I took phen/fen for 3 mos in 97...want to make sure I don't have heart valve damage.
2. Endoscopy on Xmas Eve! (Had a choice of that day, or end of February!)
3. Have to see an endocrinologist.
The last two are to see why I get sick sometimes when I eat (honest, it's JUST like dumping syndrome)...could be hypoglycemia, ulcers, h pylori, or something weird with my pancreas. Hope it doesn't keep me from having surgery.
Looks like I'll mostly likely have surgery in early February, instead of Jan. like I hoped.

Francie:
Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy for you!!!! Early Feb is still right around the corner!!! My surgery was 3 weeks later than I had originally hoped & now I am glad- it has given me the time to get everything done that I needed!!!
Congrats!!!
Michelle
PS- you and Krista and I still need to get together!
Congrats on your approval!!! You are also going to be in very good hands. Dr. Beck, Dr. Cahalan and Dr. Smolik are the best Drs. in this field. They are also very cautious with their patients. The time will go very fast and before you know it your surgery date will be here. Good Luck!!
