Flu shots and snow?
Dixie
as far as I know, they have changed the flu shots this year. they are no longer a live vaccine. if that makes any sense to ya, then it might help if you checked with your doc. I (for the first time) actually DIDNT get sick from getting the flu shot. usually I get the flu then for a day or two, then I dont have it the rest of the year. but this year, didnt even bother me.
but, now I am home sick, with sinuses anda nasty cold. YUCKY
and a snow watch to top it all off!

Even so, the flu shot base is still made from eggs and those allergic to eggs should never have the shot. I am wondering about the nasal mist, though.
BTW, I always get my shot. Having had the Russian flu about 25 years ago, I hope never again to have the flu like THAT!
Getting ready for the snow-- thank goodness, no ice yet!
Julie,
My husband and I got the flu shot this year for the first time because last year we got the flu and we were really sick. I am not for sure, maybe someone else can answer better than me, but I don't think the flu shot that you get helps with the stomach flu. It is for respiratory flu type.
As for snow: everywhere I look. I am about 25 miles from the Minnesota border. We are expected to get 5 to 7 inches by tomorrow morning and it is really blowing. They are letting out schools all around here.
I have never had a flu shot & yes I know I should with the diabetes. I called my doc's office so daughter & I could get shots to find out they have run out! Seems there is a shortage around here so not sure if we'll be able to get one or not
Snow??? Not sure how much we got total going to guess 3 to 4 inches anyway. I'm east of Sioux City about 25 miles. Driving conditions were horrible yesterday, took my son around an hour to get home usually a 1/2 hr. drive. School was dismissed early & I'm looking for late starts today. The State trucks are now just going by. It was quite windy out yesterday.
Brrrr....everyone keep warm & safe!
