Flu shots and snow?
Hi Julie, My family and myself have received the flu shot, but no sickness yet. We mainly got them because my mother in law is having chemo treatments for breast cancer and we need to be in the best health possible if we want to be around her. We are expecting roughly 4-6 inches of snow here on the western side of Iowa tonight and through tomorrow. And also wind!! We did have a bit of snow on the ground but it all melted yesterday from the nice warm temps. I can send some snow your way if you'd like
Hi Julie! I read an article in the Waterloo Courier that this year's flu strain will be horrible! EVERYONE should get one, children, elderly, everyone. It was stated also that all should get the vaccination for menengitis as well. I know in my area, NE Iowa, their have been at least 6 deaths due to it. I hope that this helps. Happy Holidays to you and yours! Blessed Be! Sherry
I have never had a flu shot. Not sure why but just haven't?
We DEFINITELY have snow. Last Tuesday night we got about 7" and on Thursday night we got an additional 3" and now we are in a storm watch tonight for freezing rain first then from 3-5" more tonight & I haven't even ventured further to find out about Tuesday. We've just had lots of freezing rain first before the snow so terribly slippery! I live in the way NW corner of Iowa --- about 10 miles from Minnesota border and 35 from South Dakota!!!

I'm allergic to eggs so can't take flu shots. I wish they had something to take instead because I really am scared of getting it this year so soon after my surgery. The one time I had a flu shot I got very sick, and not flu type sick. My mouth was raw & I couldn't swallow anything but liquid for close to a week. Doctor said to never do that again.
We have about a inch of snow on the ground and now more is forcast. I am hoping the bad weather holds off a bit as my surgery is tomorrow at 12 & we have a 45 minute drive and my husband will need to get home to milk tomorrow night.
