NOW I'm discouraged
Susan,
I think we all go through those times when our bodies just don't want to let the weight go. Try as best you can to focus on the things you can control - cause the scale isn't one of them. Maybe upping the protein a bit or taking a bubble bath to relax. Get out and do something fun for yourself to lift your spirits. Maybe it's time to hide the scales for a week or so?
I think as we start to lose weight our bodies are trying to adjust at every turn to try to stop us. I think that's part of the reason why "regular" diets don't work well for us either. Our bodies are just determined that we have to keep the fat. From all the posts I've read, it seems that for most the weight will hold steady for 2 or 3 weeks then come off all at once. And the weight will come off - it's just may not happen today?!
I hope I'm helping. You can do this, I know you can.

I have also been going thru the same thing for the past 3 weeks as you Susan. I finally called the nutritionist last week about ready to cry! She said that I was NOT eating enough according to what I told her I had been eating the past few weeks. I thought I was doing myself a favor by not eating all the meals recommended mainly because I just haven't been hungry, but she informed me that I NEED to eat all 3+meals daily, otherwise your body is keeping all the nutrition you give it and stores it for energy and fat because it thinks you are starving it. Since this piece of info, I've been eating more regular and just eating whatever and I've now lost 4 lbs again in the last 9 days. Who knew?

Susan, don't feel down about this. I hit a 3 week time frame from week 5 to week 7 where I only lost one pound. I talked to Theresa and we figured out that I wasn't eating enough. I increased my intake a little and lost 3 pounds the following week. I know it sounds silly but your bosy is in starvation mode right now and you need to give it what it wants to make it behave. Also a fair warning to you, I don't know if everyone does this but I gained 2 pounds week 12. I freaked out and Sundberg said not to worry about it. I upped my water intake and dropped 6 pounds the following week. My weight loss looks like this:
Surgery day: 248
Week 1 : 239
Week 2 : 233
Week 3 : 230
Week 4 : 227
Week 5 : 218
Week 6 : 218
Week 7 : 217
Week 8 : 214
Week 9 : 210
Week 10 : 207
Week 11 : 206
Week 12 : 208
Week 13 : 202
Week 14 : 200
Week 15 : 198
I hope this helps you. One thing I have found is that I can drink more if it is warm, so I have been drinking a pot of hot tea every morning (64oz). Then the rest of the day I sip on room temperature water.

Hang in there Susan! The weight will drop off! The nice thing about it is that you can be guaranteed that, and IT WILL NOT COME BACK! Its not like before! The scales can be your friend when you are losing consistently but they can also be your worst enemy when you are not! You may be losing inches instead of pounds right now. I take my measurments monthly and have lost 43" total in 3 months! If you take the measurements from every conceivable part of your body there is bound to a loss in at least one of those areas every couple of weeks. Focus on how your clothes fit. Keep your chin up!
