Embarassing question and good news as well

I am really embarassed to ask this so please be gentle with me. I am losing weight all over but one place that is "standing away" from the weight loss is my pubic area. The area "above" to be more specific. There is still alot of fat down there. Will this go away? Will I need to have some kind of surgery? Are there any excersises I can do? For the good news............ I went to Wal Mart tonight to buy some new clothes for the first time since surgery. I went from a tight 22-24 to buying a size 16 Riders jeans and 2 pairs of 14-16 casual pants. I took my best friend with me because I knew she would be honest with me, unlike my hubby who would say the tighter the better . I had to keep sending her back for smaller sizes. I started with an 18 and worked my way down to where they looked good and felt comfortable. Amy LAP RNY 08-05-03 / - 49 pounds

Hi Amy! I am still pre-op, but what I have learned through researching and just reading postings, is that if/when you have a tummy tuck the surgeon will take care of that area as well for you. Congratulations on your weight loss and sizes! Good luck and best wishes! Blessed Be! Sherry

Hi Amy We are 2 of a kind as I have that hanging apron as well. I'm pre-op actually waiting on approval right now. But that has been a question I have had also & discussed it with my nurse. Dr. Harris won't recommend tummy tuck for 12 to 18 months out. I was just thinking this morning about a girdle if they even make them anymore! With walking & exercise it might tighten up a little. Congrats on your weight loss Carolyn

Amy, I can't answer your question since I'm waiting for Dec. 8th to roll around so I can be a loser too, but I can congratulate you on those smaller sized clothes way to go. Ann

Amy, Sorry, I am also pre-op and can't answer your question, either. But have wondered the same. Someone at a support group I attended in October commented that it was funny that her husband seemed "bigger" now that she has lost weight because that little pouchy area is smaller. Sounds exciting to me!!! (BLUSH) Congrats on the weight loss and the new clothes - even some that are too big! You are an inspiration! Andrea

Amy- iT'S GREAT TO BE A LOSER, HUH? If you get discouraged at any time during the next 3 months, don't hesitate to ask questions here! We've either gone thru it or are going thru it! And there will be days, you just don't want to play by the rules! Try to get involved in a support group- even if you have to travel a little. They are great places to get info and pats on the back! Keep up the great work! Jeri H.

Buying new clothes is an awesome experience, especially since most of us typically have kept a wide range of sizes around as we have yo-yoed! I have lost 75# and only now am starting to buy new stuff. I guess I didn't think about the pube question- figured everything would be taken care of with a tummy tuck!
