my consult:

well, I went to my consultation with the doctor in Ames. To be honest with you, I wasnt really impressed. I didnt really like the doctor. I was trying to ask him a couple of questions and he wouldnt even answer me. I got to thinking, do I really want someone to open me up when he wont even answer my questions. nope dont think so. I think that I'll wait till Feb. and go back to Grinnell and have doctor Swartz to do it for me. I liked him a lot better. He at least answered my questions and didnt make me feel like I was a dumb blonde. Has anyone else been to see Dr. Hardy in Ames, and did you feel like I did? well I guess I should go for now and eat my dinner, since I just got home from work. I really need to see if I can actually sleep in my bed. I have bronchittis and asthma so I havent been able to sleep laying down. talk to you all later

Bonnie sorry to hear that things didn't go well. I'm not from your area but aren't there other area docs? I wouldn't let my dog go to someone who won't answer questions for me so you are making the right decision in my book. Lots of luck to you. Know there are several from your area that could probably give you better knowledge on doc's.

Bonnie, I had heard from a couple of folks that they weren't that impressed by Dr. Hardy - but I haven't met him. I had my surgery on the 14th of October with Dr. Sundberg in Boone. He has been excellent and so has his staff. The hospital and the nurses and aids there were great (with the exception of one dingbat nurse) and I would highly recommend them.
