Yes, I am alive! lol
Sorry I haven't posted lately, I think I am in that "hibernation" stage. I have been reading off and on and keeping up with everyone. Hopefully things will settle down around here soon and I can get back to my regular schedule. My Mom and sister adopted a dog from the Scottie rescue League about a week ago. he came from a "puppy mill" He is supposed to be 1 1/2 yrs. old but acts like a 5-6 mo. old. Still not completely house broken and is in hog heaven with room to roam and a back yard and other dogs to play with. When they got him, he was only 12 lbs. Mom weighed him and herself, then just her the other day and byher scale he is up to 17 in just a week! If it doesn't get him first, he eats it! Anyway, he is wearing Mom out and I have been over at their place helping out a lot the last week.
I saw the Rheumatologist today. He will set me up to get back into Aquatic therapy as soon as the surgeon releases me to be in the water again. (Susan, warn Sue for me!! LOL) He (the Rheumy) is starting me on a new treatment for the OA in my knees. It is a series of 3 injections into the joint each 1 week apart. Had the first today, and go back the next 2 Thursdays. It is non-steroidal (not like cortisone) and not ingested so it shouldn't hurt my "pouch" I am at the point I will try almost anything!
By his scale I am down another 5 lbs. Total of 31 from highest weight, 19 since surgery. Guess I am gonna be one of those slow losers. Still faster than I was doing on my own!
Ok, guess I have rambled long enough for now, and I will try to be more "talkative".
(((HUGS))) Elizabeth
Glad you are back Elizabeth! And congrats on the new puppy! It is awesome to hear about those kind of success stories. The people who abuse animals disgust me!!! Don't despair about the 11#. Everyone is different and your body has just had a major trauma. Once its' resistance is broken down, you will lose and lose and lose!!!! (Next post will be... Oh my gosh! I'm losing 6# a week! Is that too fast???) LOL!!! Just think of the built-in willpower we now have to ward off holiday treats around the corner! You go girl!!!!
