2-week checkup
This morning I woke up early with a lump beneath one of my incisions. Scared me, thinking it might be an abscess. Applied warm, moist compresses until I was able to contact the doctor's office. No fever or pain, so I went to my appointment in the afternoon. My next fear was that the lump might be an incisional hernia, which is not good for lap patients. But Dr. Sundberg said it was a seroma. It may leak out or dissolve on its own. We'll just keep an eye on it.
Also, by scales at home, I have lost 21 pounds-- 324 to 303. However, the scales at Dr. Sundberg's show my loss from 358 to 310 in 16 days-- 48 pounds! I hope to start feeling it soon.
Hey Susan! You are sure trying out the gamut of complications! Maybe you can get a research grant as a living post-op lab!!! Sounds like the worst of it is over though and congrats on the weight loss! Of course we ALL go by the scales that are kindest to us! LOL!! I hope you are feeling better too! Only 10 more # and you will hit a major milestone- you will be in the 200's! YEAHHH!!! Sorry to hear you have had such a rough time of it! But hopefully you can look back on all this a year from now in much smaller clothes, feeling full of energy, and still feeling it was all worthwhile. I hope the best for you in the coming new year!!
