Quick Update: surgery postponed

When I went for my pre-op, my PCP recommended that I see the cardiologist prior to surgery. She was able to schedule me on 10/27, and my surgery date was 10/28. They did a cardiac ultrasound, and decided they needed an angiogram, so did it that afternoon. Everything came back OK but the cardiologist recommended they postpone my surgery anyway to allow me to recover from the angiogram, and make sure the dye they used didn't cause any kidney problems. We tried to reschedule for this Friday, but that won't work for my doctor (sigh!). I just got the call from his nurse, though, and we'll be able to do it on 11/4. Will actually work better, since I won't have to be there until 8:00 AM (before was 5:00 AM, and is an hour drive from home!). I felt like I went through all the stress of the surgery already, and now am not at all nervous, just waiting for the day. Thanks to everyone for your support.

Dear Shelly: I read your post, and just wanted to say "hang in there!" At least you know there's light at the end of the tunnel !!!! It's probably frustrating getting your surgery postponed, but it's good your Dr. is being cautious you'll probably have a better outcome since he is so thorough Good luck next Tues, hope everything goes smoothly!!! Soon you"ll be a post op princess!!! DeeAnn R

Shelly, You are taken this set back well. I know the thought having having to wait for another day would have upset me. But you must see this process as a whole. Soon you will be on the other side. I can tell you it is differnet world on this side. Good Luck! I will pray for a speedy recovery, Lisa J
