Leaking like a sieve and lots of edema

The last drain tube I have is no longer draining into the bag but onto my clothes. There's very little drainage, so I am hoping the surgeon will remove it this afernoon when I check in for my first post-op appointment. If so, I will have been rid of all drains and tubes except the colostomy bag for the gastric feeding tube site. It seems to be healing nicely now-- not gurgling with every move I make. The problem I am really having is that I am so swollen from my toes to my knees. After giving me Lasix in the hospital, my potassium started to show up as low, so I am taking Ke supplements 2x daily. The only BP med he has me taking is the atenolol (Beta-blocker). I am going to ask if I can go back to the maxide (diuretic) to see if I can get this edema out of my legs. I figure, if I can these two discomforts out of the way, I will really start losing and feeling better.

I am sooo much better now. My feet even look wrinkled. All it takes is a mild diuretic and lots of walking to the bathroom. This morning, I finally weighed 5 pounds less than the day I walked out of here for surgery. I'm on the way!!! I think we will be removing the colostomy bag tonight, as there has been no activity all day and the bag is dry as a bone. We will switch to bandages and give my poor "sunburned" boobie a rest.
