Dr Keating pts
I did not get an enema. (was surprised) and did not get anything for my nerves until I went into the operating room although I asked about it ahead of time. They do your IV of course and put the epidural in. It was not as bad as I thought it was going to be and it gives so much relief afteward that you will not want to turn it down. The prep nurses are really sweet and will chit chat with you if they sense you are nervous. Then you wait for the anesthesiologist to stop by and talk to you. Dr Keating may or may not stop. Before you know it, you will say your goodbys to your loved ones and they will wheel you into the operating room. I remember very little about that part. They must have put me out as soon as I arrived. The next thing I knew I woke up in recovery! Remember to cut way back on your food from here on and up your fluid intake. It greatly lessens the chance of getting sick afterward and the fluid helps them with getting the IV's in.
