Any ideas to reduce scarring?

I'm 26 and with a BMI of 47 and I was curious if any of you post-ops have ideas on reducing the scarring. I'm having an open RNY in 24 days. (not that I'm counting of course!!) lol

Hi I just had surgery on Sept. 15th and I am down 22lbs. I have bought a product called Mederma, skin care for scars. I found it at Walmart, kinda of pricey. I am giving that a try. paula

I had heard of that stuff from walmart, let us know how it works, ok Judi

Also, vitamin E oil works well for preventing scarring on tissue as it heals.
