Elizabeth- I am happy that Dr. Myrie will be able to do for you next week. After I saw your post, I called Dr. AC's office- as I am supposed to have a consult with him Nov 13. They rescheduled me with Myrnie- but not until Dec 10th & they have no idea how long it will take to schedule surgery from there!!!! I called over to the group in Grinnell- they could get me in later this month- which I knew should be too good to be true, because then I called my insurance to make sure the Grinnell group is covered & of course they are not!!!!!! So i have no idea what I am going to do- I have been banking on Jan or Feb surgery!!!! Anyway- enough about me and my problems- I am sure you are very disappointed- but I am glad they are abel to get you rescheduled for next week!

Mercy Hospital now has a program here in Des Moines. It is called Mercy Center For Weight Reduction. I am a patient there and am having surgery on October 20th. They have 3 surgeons, Dr. Smolik, Dr. Beck and Dr. Cahalan. The waiting list is not long at all. I met with them on September 4th and am having surgery this month. So sorry Elizabeth, you sure do seem to have problems, but at least you'll only have to wait a week instead of starting all over again. Keep your chin up and I'll still be thinking abt you Take care,, Sheila

I'm very sorry Elizabeth about your delay. I can only imagine how disappointing it can be. My surgery is Monday, Oct. 6th so now I'm a little leary that I could get a call too. We just have to keep thinking positive thoughts....Keep your chin up! Wendy

Elizabeth: Oh, my, what news. I'm glad though you were able to schedule with another doctor. I can only imagine how you are feeling. To get yourself all prepared, then have a feeling of let down, and then to have hope again. Hang in there and since you have been nesting for the last week, is there one more cupboard you wanted to get to? LOL Gail

Aww Elizabeth, How hard this morning must have been for you, but thank goodness your Dr.'s partner stepped up to the plate for you, that is wonderful. I will be praying that everything goes as planned now. Take care~

Elizabeth, I dont know you, but it kinda feels like I do somedays. after reading all your postings! you are kind and always so positive for ppl who are having the surgery. I am sorry you went through this with your surgeon, but just be HAPPY that another doc is filling in and doing the surgery, that you dont have to go through the whole process over again! I'm so sorry about that lisa. I know you were really excited about the surgery and have been a constant support for all of us on here. Well, I went to DR Beamer Breling in Ceder Rapids on 9/2. He has never lost anyone due to surgery on 1 to illness. Dr. AC has lost 13 in 3 years. He just lost another person two weeks ago who was a personal friend and his tally is getting rather high from what i hear from the nurces at IMMH. I'm 23 so i go clubing with a lot of them. Thats the reason why i chose not to see him. Im only telling you because i want you to know the truth. OH yeah DR Smith in grinnell and Pasade in Des moines are really good too from what i hear. I have heard great things about them howver they only perform the Route N Y. And sometimes that's not the best surgery for you. I wish you the best in your search.
