My surgery date is 0CT 27TH @ Ft. Dodge. I have some body piercings on my breasts and navel. Do you have to remove them before surgery? Just wondering. Thanks!

yes I had to remove my nipple piercings for surgery. However, within hours you *can* put them back in. I certainly was NOT up to putting them back in that soon. I have had the piercings for over 3 years though, so I just waited til I got home and put them back in, with no problems. (other then the pain of bending down to look to put them in, ouch) Are you doing it lap? you MIGHT not have to remove them if doing them lap. Mine was an Open RNY. and, on this subject line. I have a tattoo between my breasts, and Dr. Eibes was nice enough to start the incision just below the tattoo (I mean RIGHT below it) so it wouldnt wreck the tatt. HE came out to the waiting room, and told my mom I had made it through ok, and he says, *yes, I even saved the heart tattoo* LOL> thank god my mom already knew about it! lol. SHe was a bit *lost for words* though when he said that ! LMAO. I think they got a good chuckle out of it though! hope I helped! Judi
