2 wks post op - mind games

I am 2 weeks post op and feeling good. However, I am also really wanting some FOOD!! I am tired of liquids and still have 2 more weeks to go before starting on soft foods. (eggs, mashed potatoes etc...) I am not hungry at all, but last night went with the family to Chuckee Cheese, and boy that pizza did something to my head!! Then today I made them a Sunday dinner - Roast, potatoes & gravy, biscuits and it really messed with my head. I so wanted to dig in!! Of course I held back and tonight feel good about it, but man!!! 4 weeks of liquid seems like forever!!! Any ideas on a good protein drink? I am soooo sick of this carnation milk, but worried about not getting in enough protein. Well, thanks for the support fellow loosers!!! Down 25 total as of today (15 since surgery) Just saying that makes it all worth it!!

I know where you are coming from. I was on liquids for 3 weeks and then pureed foods for two weeks after that. Finally the 6th week, I got to soft foods. During this stage pretty much ate hi-protein soup and hi protein pudding. I didn't think I would make it through hte liquid stage without going crazy. I did add in a protein drink since I did not like the taste of Carnation Instant Breakfast. For protein drinks, I use Designer Whey. Remember everyone has different tastes, so sample a couple. I tried Real Meals but found them to be too foamy. I always thought part of the strict liquid plan was to condition our will-power (or show me that I had some). Hang in you are more than half way there!

If you go to Vitalady.com, you can order samples of protein drinks, there is prob.40 different chocolate flavors and tons more. I'm still trying them to find my favorite. Deb Paul...I hate this pureed stuff too
