Insurance company games

Well, after my insurance company had my paperwork for 6 weeks, I found out on Monday that they need more info. They said they never received anything stating what weight loss methods I had tried or what problems I am having that could be corrected by losing weight. I knew my surgeon has done enough of these procedures to know exactly what to send, so I called them. Sure enough, they had sent more than the one paragraph letter that the insurance company said they received. Apparently it had gotten "separated" from the letter. I found out today that the same thing happened to at least 2 other people where I work. Do the insurance companies think that if they screw us around enough that we will just give up? I don't believe that they have any concept of what it took for us to make the decision to have this surgery. I know I sure as heck wouldn't be having it if I could get the weight off any other way. Anyway, a word to anyone who has Midland's Choice with Midland's Benefit Administrators. They will jerk you around all they can so be prepared to fight!
