I have been having extreme upper back pain since I lost some weight. I have not lost any in my boobs. I am now in a size 18 jeans with 44DDD breasts. I try wearing a supportive bra and my back still hurts. I have tried not wearing a bra around the house, but after a bit my back still hurts. I can only sit up for a while at a time because of the pain. Any suggestions on what I can do?~~~Amy LAP RNY 08-05-03 / -31 pounds

After my surgery...for a good 5 weeks, my back KILLED me... and Im sure your bust size is adding to the pain. My surgeon explained to me that after surgery alot of people need to see a chiropractor to get "realigned". Dont know if that would help you or not. Sorry i couldn't be of more help..~~Dawn

Just a thought here. Could you be having pain from the gas from the LAP? When I had my reflux procedure done by LAP, it took several months for the pain to go away from the gas that they fill you with. There were times that it was so severe, I thought I was having a heart attack. I have heard several people say that they have experienced this kind of pain after a LAP. I guess I would talk to my surgeon to see what he has to say. Hope you get some relief soon! Sheila

Amy- I would definitely recommend the chiropractor too. I was going to one before my surgery and he said afterwards as I lose weight, I may need more adjustments. But so far(-6wks) I have not had any back pain whatsoever. He told me your body is so used to leaning forward from all the weight in the bust and belly area that once it's gone, your spine has a hard time getting back in alignment. I did not go to a chiropractor until I was over 40 yrs old, never thought I needed one, but there have been times that he has brought me so much relief. And there ARE still ones out there who don't keep you coming back for more and more and more. I tell them I will call if I don't feel better. There are many physical symptoms related to the spine being out of alignment. I get headaches when my neck is out. My husband is constantly nauseated when a certain area in his lower back is out. Give it a try!
