To Cedar Rapidians- A different sort of plea....

My husband has not worked since June when he had knee surgery. He is healed but unable to go back to the physical demands of a farm job. He did not claim workmans comp because the knee problem was long standing and not attributable to a specific work related injury. He has 10 yrs farm experience and five years working with people with disabilities along with an AA Voc Rehab degree. He is looking for something more business related but does not have extensive clerical skills although he is computer literate and can type. He is not mechanically inclined and is not comfortable in a job requiring driving. I know I am asking for the world, but I figured I would find a good network on here for some ideas. Job hunting in CR now is the pits! I was just promoted to a full-time job at the hospital but it doesn't come anywhere near making ends meet. Any inside tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
