I am just wondering if anyone els has tried curves, or what they think of it? They have just opened one up in my town, and I was thinking about it, but I was wondering if it would help me at all. I am about 4 1/2 months post op, and according to the scale this morning, 96 lbs gone forever! well, got another 100 to go! hehe. so tell me, what do you think of curves? Judi 360~264 open RNY 5/15

I have heard GREAT things about Curves. They base their exercise on the same thing my physical therapist does. A few minutes on each machine... rotating...and working all muscle groups. GO FOR IT! If my physical therapist wasn't the same $ and right close to my work, I'd be signed up already! ~Dawn Phillips

I have heard great things about them also!!! I plan to join in November in my nearby town. I will have to drive about 15 miles to get to the nearest Curves so I hope it is worth it. They say it really tightens up the stomach, arm and leg muscles so I hope it works on some of the extra flabby skin that will be extra also!! Wendy

Judi: I have some friends who have been to Curves and really like it- but say that at some point the 30 minutes format is not enough. I strongly recommend trying Jazzercize- it is a lot of fun, very welcoming and non-intimidating. The nice thing with Jazzercize is that every routine has a low, moderate and high impact version- & you pick what moves work for your level. As your fitness level increases- you can increase your impact level. The format is typically about 40 minutes cardio and 20 minutes muscle work. To find out if there is a Jazzercise franchise near you call: 1800-Fit IS IT. Also- the franchise I go to in Des Moines is great- you can get the class schedule at 251-8888 (boy- how is that for a commercial- sorry, but I really believe in Jazzercize- espcially if you love to dance!!!)

Hi Judi, I have been a Curves member for two years. I love it. It gives me stamina(sp) and losing inches. I am four weeks post-op today and returned today to Curves. It is wonderful in the winter time. You don't have to fight the snow to walk. Depending on the size of the Curves, they have about 12 to 15 machines and that many stations also. 30 seconds on each machine and 30 seconds on each station. You make about two rounds or equal 30 minutes of exercise. Nothing gets sore and you lose inches. I would say go for it. DeAnne
