Dr keating pts

I was wondering how long it takes after insurance approval to get a date ... Also i was wondering if those of you who had a epideral how that went and if you would do it agian ?? Thank you for your help ....

I have John Deere choice through St Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Dr Keating's nurse told me it might take up to 30 days for approval but it only took two days! I had the epidural. It wasn't as bad going in as I thought it would be. Everything went great the first night as far as pain relief goes, but on the second day I somehow dislodged it and they wouldn't put it in again. Morphine just didnt' cut it and made me goofy. I think I ended up with more pain while in the hospital cuz my epi came out. I would recommend it.

Hi Tiffany, It took just under 30 days for my approval and then the doctor's office called me when they got the approval and we began the process. When I went for that visit the pre-op test were scheduled and the surgery date was scheduled. Things move pretty good after that insurance process is behind you. I was given morphine and had a horrible headache after recoveing the first two days and we discontinued it and went with Lor-tab pain pills and that did the trick, once I got rid of my skull busting headache I felt really pretty good. I guess I would have asked about getting off the morphine sooner, we did not know if it was that or the anesthesia causing the headache. take care paula
