Concerned- what do you post-ops think.
Hello everyone!! this is a should I be happy or concerned question. It has been three weeks today and I have yet to dump. It seems all the new things I try I tolerate well. This I am thankful for but here is the question. Am I eating to much? I can eat 2 oz of chicken or fish and two squares of cantalope or a KFC individual mashed potatoes and gravey. I am very ful but no vomiting or other ill effects. Is this too much? No it is not an every meal occurance but I still can. Also It kills me to sretch out my meals to 30 min. 20 is about the best I can do. Most of the time it is 15. How have all of you made the transition from the Dr. diet to regular food? Thanks for your help. DeAnne
You are definately not eating too much. As long as a person is consuming enough protein (mashed potatoes and gravy...fatteninggggg and no protein!) And consuming under 1000 calories, of which you will only absorb around 600 to 800 of, you will continue to lose. Just remember to get in your water between meals! I have never stretched my meals out to 30 minutes. I have always been about 15-20 also..so dont worry.. ive lost 50 lbs in 10 weeks now and im feeling GREAT! The only thing i can see that you can handle that I cant is the cantelope. Fruits make me dump. Everyone is different, and everyone's pouches are differnt sizes. I can already hold about 3/4 of a cup of food. Remeber also, just because it LOOKS like and MEASURES like 3/4 of a cup..it isn't that much once it's CHEWED. It compacts. I would keep up the great work with the chicken and fish...and try to keep from doing the mashed potatoes too much. They are soft...go thru you quicker..dont fill you up for as long..and have more calories...and no protein. If your not hungry..why bother? That's what I keep having to tell myself. ~~Dawn Phillips
Hi Deanna
I too can eat about anything I want I recently had watermelon and this made me dump but the reason why is that I ate just way too much of it I love it and had not had it most of the summer and wow did I ever but any thing else I do really good with I love chicken and fish and also do well with I am only 6 weeks out and consider my self very lucky considering some of the horror stories I've heard. I am down 39 lbs and feeling great. Sherry Hefley
