I was wondering if most insurance companys say obesity is a pre existing condition and make you wait 6 mon before services?

Tiffany, Each insurance company is different. Some look at obesity as a pre-existing condition where as other insurance companies don't. The only way to know is to read the fine print. My insurance company only required a BMI of over 40. I was approved in 2 days and could of had my surgery 6 weeks later. Based on what I have read, I was one of the lucky ones. Other insurance comanies make you jump through hoops. It all depends on the company and your employer's agreement with them. Janine
