Need some ideas
Hello everyone!!! First a quick update- I went back to work today. Thank goodness I can restrict my activities to desk work for a while. I am still real sore. Feels like that pain in your side when we were kids and we ran to fast. Otherwise doing great. No vomiting or other undesirable things. As of this morning I have lost 24 #.
Now my question- I am starting into the soft food phase. I am suppose to intrduce new foods. What are some safe and good tasting things we may have forgotten we could have. What was you favorite at this stage?
Thanks for the help DeAnne
Hi Deeann! WOW, 24 pounds is awesome and congrats to getting back to work. My favorite was cottage cheese, KFC mashed potatoes and gravy, cream of chicken soup, (tasted like Thanksgiving dinner after being on clear liquids for 2 weeks) ummm, lets see... jello of course and sugar free pudding. I also had popcicles sugar free, I took mandarin oranges and froze them, it was a nice treat to have. If you need anything please let me know and good luck to you...
Go with the scrambled egg idea, but add some cheese in with it for more protein (2% fat cheese - hyvee has it) and also i would dice up verrry verrry small in my chopper a couple think slices of budding brand shaved ham...even MORE protein. Makes for a great quick breakfast. Also another of my favorites was taking a very small dish and spreading 2 tbls. of fat free or low fat cream cheese on the bottom...then top with a thin layer of ****tail sauce (watch the sugars in ****tail sauce..it took me a while to find some under 9 gms of sugars) Then finely chop up some imitation or real crab meat and place on top...eat with a fork... it is soo yummy..and high in protein!! I used to eat the fattning version of this with crackers...but hey..i dont need the crackers now, and it still tastes GREAT! If you get a really bad "that time of the month" chocoate craving... Russle Stovers has some really good sugar free chocolate candies. The S'mores candies are my favorites. Hope these ideas helped... ~~Dawn Phillips
