I'm getting closer. I really can't wait. I want to again thank everyone for the support. I did get more info from my doc. I don't have to do anything different at all, just don't eat or drink after midnight night before. I still have no info on what to buy to eat/drink after. I guess I'll just go to GNC and look. I live alone and I have no to run errands, etc when I get home so I need to figure some of this out. I finally found a neighbor who will take care of my dogs. I watched Oprah today and she did a follow up on a lady in NYC that had surgery and lost over 200 lbs, but she says she is hungry every 1/2 hour. I read somewhere else that this surgery for reasons they're not sure of stops the hungry message. So I'm confused!

Sue, I would call your doctor to get a list from him as to what foods and drinks he wants you to have. Everyone seems to get different info depending on the doctor. Also everyone's body is different. I know I am 10 days out and not hungry. I have to make myself eat. Good luck and speedy recovery. If that is one thing I have learned is recoevery is the hardest for me!

Don't have to get too elaborate of a list cuz you shouldn't be too hungry and your doc probably won't let you have much more than liquids the first couple of weeks. By then you will feel well enough to get out and get more groceries. I read an article about a hunger hormone called gherilin that is suppressed when you have this surgery. They are trying to isolate it so it can be used as a medication instead of having people go through surgery. I still think surgery is the ticket though because of the dumping factor. I could have probably overdosed on that hormone and still eaten a cow!!! LOL!! It's all in the head! The apprehension is like going to the dentist. Once it's all over you will think- well, that wasn't the most pleasant experience I've ever had but I lived through it and now its time to move on. Just take it one day at a time!
