3 week post-op
3 week weigh-in= 29 # GONE!!!!! Wahoo!!! To all you pre-ops out there, it definitely gets easier as time goes on. Its a balancing act to coordinate all the fluid, protein, and exercise but if I can do it anyone can! I am going to the gym and doing a gentle swim for 1/2 daily. I have never been able to exercise that long and that consistently before but I am taking it at a pace I am comfortable with. For now it is relaxing and does not promote sore muscles. Eventually I will have to put more effort into it for the aerobics effect but for now I can at least keep my arms and legs moving for a solid 1/2 hr without tiring. I go back to work on my evening shift tonight so that presents a new challenge to make sure I maintain my fluid intake. I'm able to wear a new scrub suit I bought pre-op that was too snug before! I'm on my way!
WAY TO GO MICHELLE!!!! how awesome is that?? Isn't swimming great? The only bad part is the "gravity" when you are climbing out. I kind of imagine it to be the difference between pre and post -op in a few seconds instead of months of years. I don't know about other places, but here in the Ames area, there are motels that will let you use their pools during the week days, the one I go to it is $1. and I have to sign an form saying I don't hold them responsible and etc... (Country Inn and Suites in Ames on Hwy 30 and Dayton Rd.) To get into a smaller scrub is great!! Those things have NO give and you can't fudge any on those sizes!! That is wonderful.
