Sorry I havent been here Elizabeth! I'll try to be better about posting...I'm 5 weeks post op now, I've lost 45 pounds and I've actually been stuck at the same weight for about a week and a half, which means I need to start exersicing more I'm not having any problems with food that I can think of, I take about three bites of anything and I'm done though, but that's not a bad thing. I had a bagel this morning with cheese and bacon, although I picked the bacon off, I still only ate a little under half of it and stuck the rest in the refridgerator. The biggest problem I am having right now is that I am having a severe latex reaction....guess it was caused by the steri-strips I had on my incisions (I had Lap surgery), but my whole tummy is broke out in a really really bad rash and it's driving me absolutley insane!!! Feel free to email me or post questions for me, I'll try my best to answer!! ~Kelly

Thank you Kelly! :P Congrats on the 45 lbs!! WOOHOO! Is Myrie giving you anything for the latex reaction? I know I had a problem with that tape that has the little holes in it after my appendectomy. They gave me Benadryl. Also, did he offer PT to you to get you started exercising? I have been having aquatic therapy to help build stamina before surgery and I plan to ASK for it after I am healed enough from my open RNY. I figure some time in Nov. Keep in touch!! Elizabeth

45 pounds gone forever!! Good for you hon!!! Get walking, it is the best exercise you can get at this point. Also make sure you chew your food thoroughly. If you need to, set a timer, give yourself 2 minutes between bites to chew and digest- it helped me tremendously. Have you tried salads yet? I can't remember when I started eating lettuce etc, but don't be surprised when you can eat way more salad than anything else... lettuce has so much water in it that you can eat more than you would expect. It really hit the spot for me, too. Sorry to hear about the rash, hopefully you will be feeling 100% in no time! Congrats girl!!! ~Julie
