protein drinks

i have been doing some research about the protein drinks. i have been on other message boards and have come back with some suggestions for something different. WWW.3fatchicks.com is a neat site with lots of different forums, however they have been talking about protein drinks and I ordered on called apple nectar. it is pricey, but the jar is huge. Nectar by Syntrax. It comes in 4 flavors Apple, Carribean Cooler, Cherry Berry and the new Kiwi Strawberry. Just something different. My PCP wants me to have more protein now, before surgery and suggested Ensure. Another recommendation from 3fatchicks was http://www.i-shophere.biz/higprotfruit.html. also fruit flavored drinks with protein and fiber!

Beverly, Thanks for the info! There is another one, www.vitalady.com She is a post op that started her own business to try and help us WLS poeple out. I ordered some "samples" from her. I haven't tried them yet, but for $1.99 each instead of full price and you aren't stuck with a huge jar of stuff you don't like. I mostly ordered the chocolate flavored ones as I am a true chocoholic and am going to miss it post-op and am hoping this will help with the cravings. But there are fruit and other flavors. Just another site to check out and research. Elizabeth

Make sure you read the Ensure label. There may be sonme protein grams, but read the # of carbs and sugars. I would stay away from that stuff.
