Sleep study locations
I failed my sleep study & both places to have the study in Waterloo are so busy that they can't get me in for the followup study with a CPAP until a week after my scheduled surgery date. I am willing to drive to other cities if I can get in earlier. Do any of you know if there are places that can get me in at short notice?

Dixie,
Hi My name is Kat. I am new here. I read your question about the sleep study and just wanted to share with you where I went.
I went to Mercy Sleep Center in des Moines. Dr. Wendy Flegul was and is my dr. She is WONDERFULLLLLLLLL. She helped me so much on getting this surgery done and fast. She is a true ANGEL. She is so very good. If you go to her you will be very pleased. My hubby and I both go to her and we have an appt. comming up, if you cant get in real soon, (which you should), I have not had any problems, anyway, if you cant get in to quick let me know and you can have our appt. time. WE can see her another time. Ours is no hurry, just a follow up and your is important. good luck to you. If I can be of any help, let me know. Kat.
Kat,
That is really sweet of you to offer but I would never want to take anyone's appointment from them. Your doctor sounds like a dream though & if I were closer to DM I would give her a call.
I did call Mason City after hours tonight & talked with a tech who sounded encouraging. He also suggested one of their satalite offices, New Hampton (talk about a small town) and that's just up the road from me. I am north of Waterloo.
Will let you know what happens. My surgery is scheduled for Sept 16 & I hope it won't have to be postponed for this.

Ottumwa is probably further than Des Moines, but we have a sleep disorder clinic at the Ottumwa Regional Health Care Center. I guess I am wondering about the apnea tests, I thought Obesity contributed to this, and that the surgery would alleviate this, but are you having to be under treatment for apnea before surgery?
