We had our monthly weight loss support meeting last night in the Quad Cities. I got my pictures from last month and I almost didn't recognize myself! It is hard to believe all the changes that I have gone through in only 1 short year. Anyway, there was an interesting conversation about proteins and exercise. There were 3 women that can NOT break 100 pounds lost and they were discussing what they might be doing wrong 1 woman does her proteins religiously and exercises by running 2 miles a day and walking 3 miles a day plus rides her bike often. The other 2 women admit to eating things they should not be eating and not doing proteins but they do walk regularly... I will pass your advice on to them if anyone here has any ideas. Have a great day today!! ~Julie

Geez woman, are you kidding me, I don't drink but I would have myself a hell of a mountain party if I could only walk 3 feet un-assisted. Just kidden, I can walk three feet, it's that 4 feet that's a ***** You know all that weight you lost, well I think I found it so don't worry, it's amoung friends. Thanks alot woman, you lose, I gain. You are doing so great, let me tell you what, when and if I ever get this surgery done, I am going to make a special trip to see you, Laurie, and Elizabeth just to show you I did it and I will be walking on my own, how's that? Your a great inspiration to me, everyone here is. Take of you friend.~~Tina

Hey girl!!! Sounds like the east side of the state is really ambitious. I look forward to the time that I can even think of doing half that. I did find some place here on the board, (this will be my mantra after surgery) and hope that this helps.... No Less than 60 grams of protein daily No Less than 64 ounces of water daily No More than 15 carbs daily I realize that there is no mention of exercise in this equation, however.....all these items need to be accounted for also. It is a very difficult balance!! True???~~Linda~~

My husband grew up in the Quad, we go there every month ;) I recently found an attachment on someone's web site that talked about "Rules of the Pouch" for Dummies. It had things in it I have never read before...like "fluid loading" and chugging water 15 minutes before you eat. The site is http://pages.ivillage.com/krystinesjourney/pouchrules.pdf is was very informative...it said that at the beginning you can fit more in your mouth than in your stomach...no other animal on earth can do that. Amazing! Read and tell me what you think, you are a smart cookie and I'm interested in what you think. Deb
