Hi Lisa, I am just a week out and thought maybe I could help with the hospital list. I took a couple gowns and a robe and sloppers. I also took my brush, toothbrush and deoderant. I threw in a couple of books thinking I would read when I got bored. Well I only used...my brush and toothbrush, and slippers. It was easier to stay in the hospital gowns and I wasn't really up all that much to worry about the robe. I was only in two day tho. I didn't crack a book either. the pain meds kept me pretty groggy...It was chalange enough to watch TV...lol Best of luck on your surgery and I hope your recovery is speedy and uneventful! I only brought 1 set of my own pajamas because I figured the gowns would be the easiest for checking drains, the IV tubes, catheter, wound care, etc. My mindset is why mess up your own clothes, then you have more laundry to do and run the risk of ruining something. By day 3 or 4 you might want to wear something of your own. I never did my hair so I didn't bother with those things either. I brought deoderant, shampoo, toothpaste and brush, pictures of my children, I would recommend some sort of lumbar support, either bring a body pillow or if you own a lumbar pillow take it with you. I didn't have one and ended up having an extra blanket rolled tightly and jammed into my lower back to releive some of the pressure. Slippers with traction... something you can slip on without having to bend over and hook on your heel. My period was 2 weeks early because of the shock of surgery on my body, I wish I would have known so I could have brought pads... I brought a little clock for my table, a book which I never touched, and I wish I would have brought my own glass for water. A robe too if you have one, although the first couple of days you might not be able to wear it if your IV is in the way. I recommend getting up and walking as often as possible, after 3 c-sections that was the one thing I KNEW I had to do and it really helped. Hope this list helps, let me know if you have any other questions! ~Julie
