Hi! I went and got the staples out the other day and was weighed and have lost 28 pounds since the surgery. I am thrilled to death with that amount, but am wondering if this is about the norm or less or more than the norm. Anyone elses weight loss amounts at 2 weeks would be greatly appreciated. I attempted shopping the other day and got through 5 aisles and started feeling throbbing, almost like where my ovaries would be sitting. I sat down for a few minutes and then could go another 2 aisles before getting the pain again...anyone else get something like this with walking? Thanks!

Hi Sue- I lost 28 pounds at 2 weeks, too. I have a little low back pain when I walk too long, and my hormones aren't quite sure WHAT to do with this rapid weight loss. When they do surgery like this, they sometimes just put the "gut" back in, and it takes awhile to settle into the right places. Sounds gross, but it kind of makes sense. Congratulations on your loss- it's fun being a loser, huh?

Sue, From what you describe your symptoms sound TOTALLY normal. I lost 24 lbs in the first 2 weeks...and have aches STILL ...at 3.5 weeks. But be warned..the quick weight loss does plataue a little once you start your walking and physical therapy..you will lose inches and not pounds..because you will be gaining muscle mass which weighs more than fat. Hope this helps ~Dawn Phillips
