Hi Karen, I live in Urbandale. I have never heard of paying the deductable up front. I would check with your Insurance carrier to see if that is correct. If I may ask, what hospital and surgeon are you seeing? I see Dr. AC and will have surgery at IA Meth.

I had been told that my doctor or the hospital had been having trouble getting people to pay the amount that the insurance company didn't cover so his office lets us know exactly how much is expected to be paid by the surgery date. In my case it's around $400 but they told me how much it was when they gave me my surgery date, which gave me plenty of time to make sure I have it available. Dixie

Hi Karen, I am going to Mayo Clinic and they are letting me pay my out-of -pocket and deductible off on a monthly bases. So I guess every Dr office is different . My surgery isn't until Sept 16th so I still have a long time yet wi**** could be in Aug but at least I have a date .......GOOD LUCK ON OUR SURGERY ...BYE Sheila
