This strand is for the pre-ops, please post any questions that you might have, even if they seem insignificant. I had questions asked of me that I didn't think about asking before surgery, and I wish that I would have thought about them before I went through my surgery. Don't be afraid to sound silly, there is no such thing as a stupid question. ~Julie

I have heard all the horror stories, constant diareah, gas, vitamin deficiencies etc. I have also known several who did earlier versions and have gotten as big if not bigger since the surgery. how do you know for sure that you can make it, how to you give up on chocolate, ice cream, cookies etc???? I know I should be thinking yeah, this will work, and I will never want these things again, but I also know I have dieted and been successful, and the lure of the german choc. cake continues to lurk and wait for me to have a weak moment and then I am done for. Has anyone been embarrassed to talk about this at work. I mean if I get surgery, everyone will guess, so how does one handle that? I will have more questions as I think of them.

Hi~~ I am new to site, but I just found out yesterday that I am approved for surgery by my insurance and have scheduled for Aug. 22. I am feeling somewhat nervous. Starting to have some questions. I was pleased when I saw your message. I am wondering about starting vitamins now, protein drinks etc? Is that recommended? Also, can you wear your own nightgowns in the hospital? I am sure that I will have many questions, but these are a few of the things I have been wondering about. Thanks.Deb

Hi everyone, I was sure glad to see this post. My surgery is Monday, July 28th. Only two days. I am wondering what I should be taking to the hospital with me. Can I wear my own nightgowns? Should I take shampoo.deodorant, curling iron, etc. Would a good book be a good idea? Seems like my mind is just a blank, so if anyone has any suggestions, please post. Thanks Gloria
