First timer to these boards

Hi. Thanks so much Elizabeth for inviting me here. I didn't know there was an Iowa board...shows how much I pay attention! I am very excited about my upcoming surgery and soooo ready for this day. It's been a long time coming. I started in Illinois and had problems with the Bariatric Treatment Center. From my personal experience, I surely would not recommend anyone to go there. Then I heard about Grinnell. I am very happy with my change to the Surgical Associates of Grinnell. My surgery is July 16th...4 days away...yippee! I would love to hear from anyone. Thanks again Elizabeth.

Welcome to the board, good luck with your surgery! I am almost a year post op and have lost 158 pounds, and would go through the surgery again tomorrow! Post any questions you have or if you need some support, that's why we are here!! Take care! ~Julie

Hey People!! I am trying to lose weight, you keep this up and you are all gonna give me a FAT HEAD!! Sue, I am so gald you found us. Let us know if you need anything. FYI My Mom graduated from FC high in about '52. She was in the same class as Methusala!!! (She is gonna kill me!)

welcome sue, I sent you a letter to your email about Grinnell and my personal recent experience. I think I am going to sit down tonight and type out all of what I remember of the surgery for everyone to read and laugh about! hehe. Judi

Sue, welcome aboard. I had my surgery in Grinnell by Dr. Coster and have been very happy with it. I also had my panni/hernia done by him in Nov. BTC is more expensive than other places I have heard too, because they are a corporation.

Hey Sue. Welcome to the board. I've only been here for a short time now and already love this place! There are some really great people on here and they know how to make you feel welcome. I'm so excited for you that your surgery is coming up! Before we know it you're going to be posting about those pounds just dropping off. Can't wait to hear more from you!

Hi Sue- Welcome to our little group! So your countdown is just about over.... I have about 23 more days! Mixed emotions... on one hand looking forward to the changes in my life but on the other hand, scared to death to embrace them. We usually call food our "friend" but in my case it has become my enemy. I am so glad to have found this site- there is a lot of support and encouragement out there!Don't know anything about Grinnell as I am going to have my WLS in Cedar Rapids at St Lukes. I work there so would be hard to go anywhere else. Will be looking forward to your involvement here and your post-op comments! Michelle
