Just wondering !!!

I was just wondering if anyone knows of a support group up in nw or ncen ia. I haven't been able to locate one in my area of Emmetsburg . Also just have a question about how long a person could expect to stay in the hospital ? And what seems to be the average length of time one is off work? I'm sure these question have been asked somewhere before......Sheila

I don't know of any in that area of the state, but it doesn't mean there isn't one. Time off depends on type of job and type of surgery. I had open and am a nurse so took full 6 wks, however, some people who had open and have a desk job took only 2-3 wks. Lap is less time off. But, you still get very tired. You may consider part time for a week or so. Time in hospital varies, lap is usually shorter, open I was in 3 nights, 4 days.

I went into the hospital Wednesday morning and came home Saturday afternoon. I have no clue where Emmetsburg is, but we do have weight loss support group in the Quad Cities, in Davenport which is right on the Mississippi River. I am a stay at home mom but my husband tok a week off work to help with the little ones and then I had a mothers helper for 2 weeks after that to help out with them.
