OK, we are going to have a little cyber-party for Dawn, I hope everyone will come!!! There are a few things we need to do, first, everyone must give Dawn a piece of advice, and bring 3 things to the cyber-party!! 1 thing that she needs BEFORE surgery, 1 thing while she is at the hospital and 1 thing post-op! Also, as many hugs and positive thoughts as you can muster up!! Have fun with this post, it can be funny, funky, serious, silly or goofy! Love ya, Dawn!!

My advice to you, Dawn... STAY AWAY FROM LIQUID TYLENOL!! LOL, ok only the red kind, that was the first thing I ever "dumped" on, hubby didn't get the sugar-free kind. I had no clue that I could dump on something that was supposed to make you feel better!!! Your pre-op gift is a pan of double fudge brownies with chocolate frosting... mmmmmm.... for in the hospital, your gift is a sexy male hairstylist to come and make you feel like a woman and get the snarls out of your hair that you will be too tired to brush out yourself... and for your post-op gift, a camera so you can take lots of pictures of yourself losing weight so fast that in a few months you won't even recognize yourself! Loev ya hon, thank you for letting me be your angel! My prayers and thoughts are going to be with you, I know that you are going to come through this smelling like a rose!!! ~*~*~*~*~Julie~*~*~*~*~

Well...since I just had surgery a little over a week ago. I can tell you the things that I wished I did before....wished I had in the hospital...and wished I had now. First thing...before surgery...take note of little things you take for granted. I miss taking a real drink of water when I am thirsty. So make sure you savor the little things like that. 2...AT the hospital...I had tons of support, my husband stayed with me the whole time. But I want for you to have a comfy bed...and someone to rub the kinks out of your back when you have been on it for 3 days (not in the good way). 3....For at home...I want you to have sanity...I don't know of course where you are going to get it from since I have lost mine. But I wish you all of the luck in the world. Possitive thoughts, and a speedy recovery!!! GOOD LUCK DAWN!!! damena

I would guess the main thing you need before surgery would a tight fist to retain what little sanity you have left. At the hospital, birng your own "special" cup or glass. Those styrofoam things stink! And for post op....hmmm not there yet, but I would guess a pillow to hold yourself together when you cough! (had to do this with appendectomy, believe me, IT HELPS!!!) You will be in my thoughts and prayers for a problem free surgery and a speedy recovery. I need to add more names to my "losers" list! Elizabeth (P.S. I saw that crack about me not being an angel!!! :P)

OK here it goes. Don't freak out if you have bloody stools in the hospital, my doc told me it was normal. Don't take too much reading material like I did, I never read it, slept most of the time. Take the eating slowly and don't freak out if you think you are drinking/eating more than you should.

Wow! what a party! Dawn I enjoy all your great posts and word of encouragement to others you are truely a good soul. Now... Since Julie provided the food (yyyyuuuummmm) Then the other thing you need is a long loving night with your husband. (spent any way YOU want) At the hospital my guess is that you will need comfy(sp) p.j.s . And when you get home you might want extra help with house work so hire a maid. That's my wish everyday. My thoughts have been and will continue to be with you through the whole thing. GOOD LUCK!!! *****DeAnne

OH Dawn, I can't believe your big day is almost here! I swear I'm so anxious it feels like it's my surgery date. I know we're supposed to bring advice and 3 things. Well, mine are all the same. From reading your posts and from all the great replies you've made to my posts I think all you really need to keep with you at all times is your fabulous sense of humor. I know personally it's what always seems to get me through anything. Good luck to you sweetie...you're in my thoughts and prayers. Can't wait till it's over and your back to make us all laugh!

Hi Dawn!! I'm a little late as usual. Hope all the goodies for your party aren't gone yet! My piece of advice? In the days to come when you are bound to have some miserable moments, hang on to what lies at the end of the rainbow- a healthier, happier, YOU!!!! One thing I would suggest you need BEFORE surgery is an hour with a massage therapist to soothe those anxious moments. At the hospital I would bring you the softest, cushiest burgundy velour robe and slippers to wrap yourself in. And post-op, a quiet understanding family who will wait on you and be respectful of keeping their illegal goodies from your sight! Wishing you the best- we are all rooting for you! Michelle

Hi Dawn, I really don't have good advice for you like everyone else does but I want to tell you that 1st, I hope you will pray for the pain to go away, 2nd. I hope you pray in the hospital that not to long from when you entered you will be free of pain and 3rd. I want you to say hell yes world, the pain is now no more plus you will look fabulous in no time at all and you can tell all those rotten ******** who have not a clue what you have been threw in your life to Kiss your slinky slender ass. Thats it. Good luck I will keep you in my thoughts.
