Just found the site

Just found this part of web site. I live in Emmetsburg up in the nw part. I have a surgery date for 9/18/03 at St Mary's in Rochester MN .

Welcome, I had VBG 6-97 and went from 364 to 212, regained 80+ lbs and had open RNY 6-29-01, yes, today is my 2 yr anniv and went from 295 to 183 and am back up to 199. I live in Boone and our next door neighbors who moved to St. Paul were from Emmetsburg.

Welcome Sheila. I have a sister that works in Methodist Hosp. in Rochester. And my mother has been in St. Mary's many times. It is awonderful hosp. and you will get the best of care there. Hope to get to know you better before your surgery. Elizabeth

Hi ,Just a little info on myself I'm 50yrs young been overweight for about 40 of those yrs .My health has been pretty good up until about a yr ago high blood pressure,diabetes, etc etc. my BMI is 59.1 so as you can see alot of weight to carry around. I started back in Feb ,03 at that time I was told I also have sleep apena on cpap machine, but best of all I've already lost close to 40 lbs since I started.Maybe some us could get together and talk about the whole process .

Hi Sheila, I just found this site a day or two ago too and I have to tell you that the people here are AWESOME. My surgery is July 28 in Moline, IL. So, I will be just a little ahead of you, but wish the best for you. I am scared and excited, just like everyone, but I know this is the right thing . I am almost 50 years young too and my poor old body does not like carrying this weight around. My bones hurt, my feet hurt, my back hurts. I am sure many more significant health problems are just round the corner if I don't do this now. Good luck on your journey and keep us all posted.
