Should I be worried or glad???

I went to see the head shrink yesterday and they let me go.(lol) My wonder is it only took 10 min. Is this common? He said I was a compident (sp) women and could make my own desicions. Well I knew that but 10 min. I guess I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. Now I have to wait a month till my Dr. get back. What a drag. Tell me about your consults. ****DeAnne

Hi DeAnne~~~Did you go to Dr. Sampel?? at Lutheran Hosptial?? Sounds just like the interview that I had. Only difference was that mine lasted for 15 minutes. Must be that I'm older than you and it took a little longer to put down my history.(LOL) He said just about the same thing to me. Take it as a gift, considering all the hoops we have to go thru even to get this far.~~~You must have Dr. AC also. I was fortunate enough to get my second consult done before he left, however, my surgery date is set for the 8th of Aug, after he gets back. (I've thought it's funny~~the date, "ate-ate") I'm having the lap rny. How's about yourself?? BTW, I saw on your profile that you have had your pulmonary testing done. What can you tell about it. Mine is scheduled for four days before surgery at Methodist, patient testing area. Where did you have it done? What did you have to do for it? ~~~Linda~~~

I think all of you are so brave. I don't have to go through that for my surgery but if I did I would be very concerned. Don't you guys think it is stupid to have to get someone whom you just met for minutes have the ability to make it there decision if you have surgery or not.To me it isn't us that are crazy but the whole process. Here we are leaving in these bodys everyday and suffering within ourselves. We are the ones that have come to the cross roads of life and want to try a different path. There shouldn't be toll there to cross by. I just see this process to be just another way we as FAT People are judge. Does anyone eles think so?

DeAnne, my visit with the shrink up at Mayo took over an hour ! so be glad yours was only 10 min. Then Mayo insists that you go through a behavior modification program. As for the sleep clinic I too have sleep apena found it out Feb. Mayo has some real tuff routine they have go through before the surgery.
