ICKY ICKY ICKYYY
Ok..most of you have probably experienced this.. but it is SOOO embarrassing...and hopefully I will not have to experience it much longer. I get into the examining room.. and the nurse leaves me to put on this gown for my EKG. It was about 4 sizes too small! I couldn't even get it closed around my boobs!!! i was soo embarrassed to have to wait and wait and wait for her to come back so I could ask her for a larger robe :-*(. Since I've scheduled my surgery, i have been alot better at handling my feelings about my weight..but this kinda did it. It really made me feel bad.. and i mean.. COME ON! The nurse had my chart right there.. and she KNEW i was having weight loss surgery.. she HAD TO HAVE KNOWN a medium sized hospital gown was NOT going to fit me! UGH... anyways... all my dr. appts are now done until the 1st of july when i see my surgeon for the last time before the surgery on the 10th. Tick-tock-tick-tock 22 more days left... ~~~~Dawn~~~~
Yup, been down that road. My PCP uses those paper tissue "one size fits most" gowns. When the nurse handed it to me to put on, I laughed at her and asked "which arm?" So she handed me two paper drapes that aren't much bigger. Said that maybe those would help! HA!!! When I put that paper gown on, it wouldn't even cover my boobs, then it tore right down the back. What was left slid down my arms and I was left trying to arrange those two tiny drapes around my body. Ugh! I hated that day and the way it made me feel.............BTW...I think I can hear that clock ticking for you!!! ~~~Linda~~~
I think it is terribly inconsiderate to make a heavier person ASK for a gown that fits... same with blood pressure cuffs, I hated having my blood pressure taken! Pretty soon that medium gown WILL fit tho, and you will be grinning from ear to ear! I couldn't picture myself thinner either, and now I can and I LOVE IT!!! Take care hon.... ~Julie
