Happy happy joy joy Dance!!!!

I've got to confess, I've been lurking here in the background for about 4 or 5 months. Last Friday I found out that I was approved, and today I got my date!!!! I don't remember much about driving home from my appointment. I think it's because I know this will be the last summer that I'll have to suffer through being the first to get hot, the first to get tired, the last of the elephant size underware (that insists on riding up to uncomfortable places), the anti-perspirant that has to go in places that my sister-in-law can't dream of, last of being out of breath after walking 50 feet, struggling to tie my shoes. All of that and more. At last my body will be able to dance with soul.!!!!!!

I am SO HAPPY for you! I remember the same feelings you are having now... and life is so much nicer now! I LIVE life, I don't just get through it. When is your date? What doctor are you going to? Details, woman!!! Good luck, ask any questions you might have and take care!!!! ~Julie

My date for my new birthday is August 8th. Hmm....not exactly soon, but my doctor (Dr. Chendrasekhar) is leaving to go to India for the month of July and spending time doing health care in a village there. Kind'a one of those doctors without borders things. There is a part of me that wishes that I could have it done before he leaves, but on the other hand...at my age I have learned that I must savor that which I can not hurry. Therefore I will enjoy my time before that date and dream of how this winter when all of outdoors is sleeping and cold, I'll be shedding pounds and emerge from the winter in a body that I have not had in many many years

ooooooooooOOOOOOOOO a lurker.... shame on you!!! We could have been friends for MONTHS and you denied us of that pleasure!!! Well your forgiven THIS time..but you better post regularly now!! Congrats to you!!! I am having my open RNY next week with DR Myrie, he is a partner to DR AC. I hope you all the luck and keep us posted. Also I didn't know if you saw on another post but they are having a support meeting on 6/27 at Methodist. Call Tammy Strachen the bariatric coordinator or your dietian and find out if you would like to attend. Maybe I will catch you at the next meeting...for now..HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY for you!!!! D

Congradulations Linda! I am dancing right along with you! I got my ins approval last week and am waiting for a surgery date! I can sure relate to all the hygiene things related to obesity! Skinny people don't have a clue do they?! I will see you on the other side! Michelle
