Healing Time

I was just wondering how long the recovery time was after the surgery? And how hard was it to get approved?

I had an open RNY on a Wednesday, went home on Saturday, and was walking a mile within 4 weeks. I have 2 young children at home so I had a mother's helper for 2 weeks following surgery, but every day got a little better. As far as getting approved, I went in for a consult, my Doc wrote a letter of medical necessity and I was approved within 30 days. I never even had to call the insurance company or anything. Bev, I'm still waiting for approval and a surgery date... but i have had friends that have had this done...they both had laproscopic RNY's and they were up and walking a mile at 1 week post op.. amazing i know! Too bad mine is going to be an open... ~~Dawn~~
