I currently have a part-time job at St Lukes hospital in Cedar Rapids. I really like it but can see where it would be very stressful if it were full-time. Having just gotten out of management in another field, I needed this break from the high stress even tho it meant taking a big cut in pay. Fortunately it carries almost the same benefits of full-time whi*****ludes awesome ins at a very reasonable rate. I have had the option of moving into full-time but I declined so far so I don't get burned out. I love shopping at second-hand shops and garage saling so when an ad came out for part-time help wanted at a new upscale second-hand shop coming to Cedar Rapids(Stuff Etc..), I jumped at the chance. I interviewed and then heard nothing back from the owner for weeks so figured I didn't get it. She called me yesterday and offered me a PT job thats only 12 hrs a week(so I won't get burned out having 2 jobs!) and worked out a schedule that fits perfectly with my other one! Here's the eerie part tho.... I had JUST informed my present boss the day before yesterday that if a full-time position comes up I would take it(I need the money which overrides the stress factor), so right in the middle of this comes the job offer. And BOOM!!! Last night it hit me like a ton of bricks!! I will be needing oodles of new clothes in the coming year. I'll only be making about $200 every 2 wks at this new job but guys!!! Can you imagine how many awesome clothes I'll be able to get at second-hand prices for that much money???!!!!!! This is truly fate! I won't get burnt out and will have TWO jobs that I love!!

Awesome, congrats! After surgery, clothes were a big problem for me, I wore my big stuff until it fell off me because I didn't have money to go and buy things every month. I also think it is great that you enjoy both your jobs, that is half the battle right there. Congrats again!! ~Julie

IM SOO HAPPY FOR YOU MICHELLE!!! Does your new job know about your surgery plans?? I hope that wont be a problem for them... I'm still hoping for a July surgery date..but I am scared too... I work for a ford dealership and we are moving into brand new facilities in July. (July 14th if anyone wants to come to the grand opening! Free food... door prizes..the works! Im office manager of the collision center!) Anyways... they requested that people do not take vacation in July due to the grand opening... and I hope they wont be angry with me for doing my surgery then. But i want to get it done asap! Anyone have an opinion on this?? I'm probably worrying over nothing..i probably wont be able to get a date til until Aug. anyways... ~~~Dawn~~~
