Well even 2(+) years out, I had a spell today. I made Cheried Beef and Rice (huge crockpot for the next week) and low and behold 3 bites later, GAG!!! I have been throwing up for the last 3 hours. For the last few months I've been basically living on cottage cheese and chicken, and i had a huge craving for this meal, and now i can't have it. I know rice expands, but i thought i could get in at least 8-10 bites. It's amazing how 27 months after surgery my tummy still can't handle rice!! But i'm going to look at it as a MAJOR blessing!! in the last 2 and a half years I have weighed 320 pounds, had WLS, got down to 190 pounds, had a Panniculectomy and am now at 170. Of course there are things that are still causing problems, like my body image, depression, plateaus, gullbladder, but those are things i'm working on. Hopefully after i finish school (nursing) i can go work for a PS and get all the physical crap taken care of, cause man is it gross!! i'm still seeing a therapist so i'm working on the mental...still on anti-depressants, but that is a good thing, if i was off them i'd be a total mess!!! I want to take a minute and thank all of you that have e-mailed me about my new picture, and supported me. Those of you that have told me i'm your inspiration, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Please, no one be afraid to contact me, i love talking about my surgery and how it has effected my life. Also, I know there are a lot of young people out there that don't think this surgery is an option for them, or have been told so because of their age. Just so you know....... I HAD SURGERY WHEN I WAS 19!!! you can do it to!!!! I love you all!! hugs!!

I really commend you on your frank and open attitude about your weight loss surgery, depression, etc. I think there should be more people like you on here that can help the new people that are still thinking about surgery and have fears. I finally made an appointment to have a consult with a plastic surgeon inJuly and I am so terrified! I have had 3 c-sections and the RNY, but my big fear is the abdominoplasty and the drains. I would love to talk to you more about your plastic surgery sometime. Take care! HUGS! ~Julie
