Have I done everything I need to so far???

I have called my insurance company, and recieved the pre approval form to take to the surgeon... sounds like BCBS Alliance Select is a good approver of this surgery. waaHOOO! $1500 out of pocket limit isn't bad is it? Surgeon and hospital are covered under my PPO (thank you god!) I am having all my prior medical records and the med records from my vertical banded gastroplasty sent to the surgeons office....filled out the release records forms yesterday and faxed. Is there anything that im missing?? Besides the "now i wait" phase which is KILLING ME!!!! But I guess I've been overweight my whole 30 yrs.. so a few more weeks isn't going to kill me.. but DANGGG it's so hard .. .im the type of person that when i decide to do something i do it NOW. hehe I am going to the required seminar about the procedure next Wednesday at 4pm. Then I have an appt with the surgeon on Thursday at 4:30pm. I think he is going to have me go get some xrays to ensure that he can do this surgery on me and that my prior surgery hasn't created scar tissue, etc.. that might cause complications. If you get time.. throw some encouragement my way or demand some from me to keep my mind off this!! aurrrghhh!!

Sounds like you have gotten all your ducks in a row- one thing you might want to look into is if your surgeon has a support group, etc. I started attending my support group meetings before I had WLS and it helped me especially with the fears that I had coming into it. Make sure you keep us updated!! ~Julie
