Just another Iowan!

Hello out there to all my Iowa friends. I just wanted to stop and say I would love to hear from anyone who cares to chat, swap stories etc. I don't have a surgery date yet, just finished consult and waiting for approval from medicare/medicaid. I'm pretty sure I'll get denied but my DR. seems to think getting approval will be no problem so I guess I'll just pray alot! 39 days and counting till the end of the six weeks of waiting, sure hope it doesn't take that long. Hi Christine! Michelle from Cedar Rapids here. I had my nutritional meeting and will be meeting with my surgeon on the 22nd. I am hoping to have surgery in August. I have decided on the VGB. I am inspired by all the stories of people who have lost 100#+! I am running out of sizes and my wardrobe is getting pretty "grandma" looking! I would also give anything to have a day in which my ankles don't swell or I don't huff and puff or sweat to death just walking across the parking lot. I will be posting my "before" picture soon- I just got it taken at Walmart yesterday. The photographer thought that was pretty cool and seemed to understand why I only wanted one shot. (I haven't stood still for a picture for yrs!!) Keep in touch! Michelle

Chris, It's a small world, or rather a small state. I went to college in Mt. P about 30 years ago. One of these years I'd like to go back down there for a reunion. I haven't been there since I graduated. I imagine there have been a lot of changes. Hang in there with your approval process. It will all come together for you. Diane
