Where is everyone?

I check this forum periodically and there are no new posts.  I'm sending this one out there to see who is out there and how people are doing.

A bit about me............I'm six years post surgery and doing great.  Have maintained my 80 pound weight loss and feel great physically. Had my surgery at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City and it was the best experience ever.  Kind, caring staff in the bariatric clinic and the hospital staff was the best.

I encourage people to post on this forum.  It used to be quite busy and now it is quiet.

I, too, had surgery at University of Iowa hospitals on July 1, 2015.  3 months post-op and have lost 40 lbs since surgery.  I had VSG instead of RNY because of needing to continue on Nsaids once given the ok by my surgeon, Isaac Samuel at U of I.

The University worked well for me, other than the fact I live in Council Bluffs and it is quite a hike (a little over 7 hours round-trip) to Iowa City for a one-hour post-op appointment!  I chose the hospital because my insurance BC/BS of Iowa didn't have any surgeons in western Iowa that were a whole lot closer, and I liked the longevity of the program at the University.  I had picked out an Omaha surgeon but my insurance turned him down because of being out of state.
