Live in Des Moines looking for support or coffee groups in the area

I recently had RNY gastric bypass on jan 5th 2011 up in MN and just got home this week and am already missing the group of people I met though OH that had a Coffee Club on saturdays in the twin cities and I was wondering if there is anything like that here in Des Moines or if there are any support groups open to the public becuase Mercy's is NOT

Sorry I can't help as I live in Sioux City, but I know how much my support group attendance helps me, so I do hope you are able to find a group soon.

Hi Jenna,

I am not from the Des Moines area but know that Iowa City's UIHC group is open to anyone.  It's a distance to go but it's an option once in awhile.  

If you can't find one, maybe you could start one yourself.  :-)  We all know how much support means as we go through this journey.

Iowa Health Weight Loss Specialist has an open support group - they meet the first Saturday of every month from 10-noon
