Just getting started

I live in the Iowa City area and wondering if anyone can give me a recommendation for a physician who performs the lap band procedure.  TIA, Julie

Dr Matt Glass**** from Cedar Falls performed my surgery.  I am not familiar with any of the drs in Iowa City.  I have been real pleased with Dr Matt and all his staff.  I have quite a drive to see them but feel it is well worth the drive and have absolutely no regrets in my selection.  Let me know if you have any questions.  Good luck

Thanks for your reply.  Have you had any issues with your lap band?  Everytime I feel good about it, I come across a post that says how awful it was and they wouldn't recommend it!  I'd be interested in hearing your experience if you don't mind sharing.

Hi Julie,

I had Dr. Jamal and would highly recommend him.  I am not sure if he does the lap band, but there is a surgeon with that group who does.  I would suggest you contact them and go for a consult and see what you think.  I attended seminars at Davenport and Cedar Falls, as well as Iowa City and decided that Iowa City was the best fit for me.  I couldn't be more pleased with them, but really hope you'll check out several places before you decide.
